Half Life2 Day 2

So today I played a lot of halflife. Even though I wanted to quit I always wanted to make it to the next check point or beat the level before I turned it off.

That being said, Today I feel like I pretty well mastered the controls. Sometimes bad guys jumped out at me and I couldn't react fast enough to shoot them without getting hit. That being said I never died from being hit by bad guys too much.

But I did find the game got increasingly complex. The puzzles were more than just one piece puzzles and had to be done in steps sometimes going into different rooms or looking for hidden areas that hold the secret to moving on in the level. This was frustrating for me because I was stuck on the same puzzle for a long time, a couple times at least.

In the game there are a lot of shadows, and because of this I find that I miss out on seeing parts of the game that require the use of the flashlight. And I sometimes forget that I have the flashlight and I end up missing out or having to take an extra long amount of time before I progress.

The story has lost some of its appeal as I have gone 2 hours of game play without a serious development in the story. I'm not sure why but now I'm driving a hover craft around this river, I don't quite understand why, or where I'm trying to get to. I have escaped the city successfully
and now there are these things (maybe aliens?) that are turning people into zombies. I don't know where they came from but maybe I'm supposed to know from Half life 1, I think the story is a continuation.
